About the Institute

We develop businesses.

Since 1992 the leading institute for the entrepreneurial future of insurance intermediaries in the German-speaking countries and the UK.

Profile

Intermediaries become entrepreneurs. We have been working on that for more than three decades.

Institut Ritter is the leading training and consulting institute of the German-speaking insurance industry for entrepreneurship and agency development. Founded by Steffen Ritter in 1992, we develop intermediary businesses into companies that grow, retain their people and gain in value.

For insurers, the Institute runs leadership development on a large scale, for example with the Business Developer Programme, which ends with IHK and Ritter certification. Our programmes work where strategy has to become daily practice for intermediaries, agencies and brokers: practical, measurable and beyond the training room.

“Intuition alone can no longer handle all of this.”

Steffen Ritter Founder and Managing Director from the AssCompact column “Von Intuition zu Automation”, December 2025

Values

What Institut Ritter stands for

  • Entrepreneurship before product sales

An intermediary business is a company. Run it like one and you sell better, attract better people and build value.

  • Standards and routines instead of chance

Success becomes predictable when processes, roles and routines are clear. Selling can run by itself.

  • Practice that works in daily business

Every format ends with implementation: tools, templates and transfer tasks that work on the next working day.

  • Putting the future to work early

From AI assistants to automation: new possibilities are tested before they become part of programmes for the industry.
